Jarlsberg Cheese Spread

I found this great spread at the grocery store. They make it in the deli. It's a little pricy there, so I made my own. You can serve it cold on crackers, or hot on baquettes. Don't put it directly in the crockpot if you're serving it for a party. Instead, find a pretty glass bowl, with a lip, that fits into the crockpot. The lip of the bowl should rest on the inner lip of the crockpot. Fill the crockpot almost to the top with hot water, and set it on low. Warm the cheese in the oven, then transfer to the bowl and set the bowl into the crockpot.

Jarlsberg Cheese Spread
1/4 cup red onion, chopped
1 cup mayonnaise
2 cups shredded jarlsberg cheese

For Cold Spread:
Mix all ingredients together and let sit, covered, in the fridge for several hours before serving with crackers.

For Hot Spread:
Mix all ingredients together and let sit, covered, in the fridge for several hours. Place, uncovered, in square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until it starts to brown and bubble. Serve with baguette bread slices, or crackers. It can be heated in the microwave too.
