Butterscotch Sauce

YUM! What else can I say!?! This sauce keeps indefinitely in the refrigerator. Put it in a pretty jar as a gift.

Butterscotch Sauce
1 1/2 cups dark corn syrup
1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
3/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
scant pinch salt
Cook, stirring over medium-low heat, until it comes slowly to a boil. Take from heat, cool, and pour into a jar. Reheat sauce in jar in hot water.

Makes 3 pints
