Sloppy Joes

This dish gets better as it sits. Make it the night before while you make something else for dinner and put in the fridge. Warm the next night and serve on hamburger buns. The meat freezes well after cooking too.

Sloppy Joes
1 1/2 lbs hamburger
1 Tbsp salt
1 onion, chopped
1/2 bell pepper, chopped (optional)
1/4 cup water
1 Tbsp vinegar (I use organic apple cider vinegar, but any kind will do.)
1 1/2 cups ketchup
4 tsp brown sugar
Hamburger Buns
Brown hamburger with salt and onions. Drain off fat. Add water, vinegar, ketchup, & brown sugar. Cook, stirring until sauce thickens...about 5 minutes. Serve hot on hamburger buns.

Serves about 5 adults
