Sinus Infection Recipe:
1/3 cup warm water (96 to 98 degrees)
1 tsp salt (any edible table salt will do)
1 sterilized plastic bottle with flip top lid (see picture below)
1 small towel or washcloth
Place salt into the bottle and add water. Shake well to dissolve salt. Tilt head back slightly. Place the flip top of the lid just inside one nostril. Gently squeeze the bottle while simultaneously breathing in through the nose. This will pull the liquid up into the sinus cavity. It will sting a little and feel uncomfortable. Keep head tilted back and hold liquid in sinuses for at least 15 seconds. Then, tilt head forward and let the liquid drain out the nose into the towel. Repeat with the other nostril.
This is what the flip top lid looks like.
I find the small bottles with this type of lid in the Health and Beauty section of the store with the travel sized containers and toiletries. I label the bottle for this recipe only and sterilize it in the dishwasher after using. Then, keep it (empty) in the medicine cabinet until needed again.DISCLAIMER: Of course, I have to have a disclaimer here...I am not a doctor or health professional. Use this recipe at your own risk.
