Jo's Fruit Bars


You can use any kind of fruit preserves for this.

Jo's Fruit Bars:

1 cup sugar
3/4 cup slightly cold butter
2 1/4 flour
1/4 cup sour cream, or applesauce
1 cup chopped pecans, or walnuts, or almonds
1 1/4 cup fruit preserves

Cream sugar and butter together. Add flour and sour cream. Mix until incorporated. Stir in nuts. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of the crumb mixture. Pat the rest into the bottom of an ungreased 8"x8" baking pan. Spread preserves over crumb mixture. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
